Your Best Chance starts with preparation.

Finding a job is not always easy. For many South Africans, especially young people and first-time job seekers, the challenge is not only finding vacancies but also understanding what employers expect, preparing a professional CV, performing confidently in interviews and developing the skills needed to succeed in the workplace.

Thubalami Skills (Pty) Ltd is making workplace learning more accessible through its new Free Online Workplace Preparation Course, available through www.Thubalami.com.

The course aims to help South Africans build essential workplace knowledge, strengthen their confidence and take practical steps towards employment.

Learn the skills employers expect

Getting a job requires more than qualifications alone. Employers also value professionalism, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, reliability and the ability to adapt to a working environment.

The Thubalami Workplace Preparation Course introduces learners to these important skills and helps them understand how to prepare for the world of work.

Topics covered include:

  • Why Work and Why You Matter: Understand the value of work, personal responsibility and your contribution to an organisation.

  • Job Searching and Growth Mindset: Learn how to approach the job market and develop a positive, proactive attitude towards opportunities.

  • Knowing Yourself: Identify your strengths, values and areas for personal development.

  • Workplace Expectations and Professionalism: Understand appropriate workplace conduct, accountability and professional behaviour.

  • Onboarding and Succeeding at Work: Prepare for entering a new workplace and meeting employer expectations.

  • Money and Time Management: Develop practical approaches to managing personal finances and using time effectively.

  • Interviews and Communication: Improve your understanding of interview preparation and professional communication.

  • Teamwork and Problem-Solving: Learn why collaboration, critical thinking and responsible decision-making matter.

  • CVs and Cover Letters: Understand how to prepare important documents for job applications.

These learning areas are designed to help learners approach employment with greater awareness and preparedness.

Why choose the free online course?

The new online learning option gives job seekers an opportunity to begin developing workplace skills without having to pay for the introductory online course.

Learners can access the course through Thubalami.com and work through the available learning material and assessments according to the online platform's requirements.

The free course is particularly useful for unemployed people, school leavers, young adults, first-time job seekers and anyone who wants to improve their understanding of workplace expectations.

Please note: The free online course provides learning and a Certificate of Completion where specified by the course. It is not, by itself, the QCTO-accredited skills programme and does not automatically confer a nationally recognised occupational certificate.

Want a QCTO-accredited programme? Choose the paid option.

For learners who want to pursue formal, accredited workplace preparation, Thubalami Skills (Pty) Ltd also offers the QCTO-accredited Workplace Preparation Skills Programme (SP-201201).

The programme is registered at NQF Level 2 and carries 30 credits. It is designed to prepare learners for employment through structured learning and the required assessment process.

Programme price: R2,850 per student.

The fee covers the accredited training and assessment arrangements included in the programme. Learning materials, travel and accommodation, where applicable, may be charged separately.

Learners who successfully complete the required programme and assessment requirements can pursue the relevant nationally recognised certification through the applicable quality-assurance and certification process. Enrolment alone does not guarantee certification.

The paid programme is a suitable option for individuals and organisations seeking a formal skills-development pathway, subject to the programme's current approval and enrolment requirements.

Who should enroll?

Thubalami's workplace preparation learning opportunities are intended to support:

  • Unemployed South Africans preparing to enter the job market.

  • Young people seeking their first employment opportunity.
